Drawings in alder catkin ink and earth pigment, gathered in Extremadura, Spain, while resident at ras de terra as part of ‘Crossing Water’, a collaborative project exploring the transformations associated with water. These drawings developed from studies of the handwritten numbers (cifras, or ‘figures’) left by Spanish metalworkers on the steel stairs of the secadero building.
